As I promised when I made the buffalo drawing two weeks ago, here is the rat:
Next on the list: the sheep. And more drawings to go and I’ll complete my zodiac project.

I just started this new project, to draw the 12 chinese zodiac animals in sum-e. I start with the buffalo:

I already have the tiger, the horse and the cat, that means that I only have 8 left to draw.
Next one is the rat.
It’s been a while I didn’t post any sumi-e on the blog, so for the next comers, let me explain you what it is. In japanese “sumi” means “ink” and “e” means “drawing”. Both words put together means ink drawing.

After the tiger, here’s the horse. I don’t know why but this one has been particularly uneasy to make. I missed several times before i can get something satisfying.

After the smoothness of the panda, here’s something more aggressive. Well, meet everyone’s taste.
Some may ask what does that title mean. In japanese that’s how we call this kind of drawing, « sumi » means ink, and « e » means drawing.
